Indications cover long-term intestinal feeding, gastric decompression/drainage, and medication administration.
Contraindications include intestinal obstruction, atony, peritonitis, sepsis, immune suppression, radiation enteritis, pancreatitis, Crohn’s disease, and peritoneal carcinoma.
