Throbex is a brand of Rivaroxaban available as Throbex 2.5,5, 10, 15 and 20 mg Tablets indicated for the prophylaxis and treatment of Deep Vein Thrombosis and Venous Thromboembolism and also indicated in Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation and reduction in the risk of Major Adverse Cardiovascular Events (MACE).
Throbex is an oral, direct factor Xa inhibitor that selectively blocks the active site of Xa and does not require a co-factor. Rivaroxaban lowers the risk of blood clots by inhibiting both free and prothrombinase-bound or clot-bound factor Xa as well as downstream platelet activation.
